Advance Scene Study

Service Description

This weekly class is designed for advanced adult actors, particularly those already working in the film industry, who want to deepen their craft through regular, rigorous scene work. Harnessing the techniques and disciplines of some of the great modern practitioners, the class focuses on unpacking the layers within each script to create compelling and truthful characters with hunger, immediacy and connection. Working in a collaborative and supportive environment, actors will develop the skills needed to make bold, meaningful choices that leave a lasting impact on audiences. To get the most out of the class, students are expected to arrive with scripts fully prepared and off-book. Entering the classroom ready to work allows scenes to be properly workshopped, risks to be taken and new discoveries to be made within the material, rather than time being spent on line learning. Students will be assigned new scenes and partners every two to three weeks. Only actors with a strong work ethic and openness to collaboration are encouraged to apply, as preparation and commitment are essential to the success of the class.
